Georgia expands its appeal with adventure, wellness tourism

Georgia is expanding its tourism appeal by promoting adventure activities, wellness retreats, and winter sports, according to recent reports. The country's mountain landscapes, including destinations like Gudauri and Svaneti, offer scenic outdoor experiences, while Batumi on the Black Sea coast provides seaside breaks.

In 2025, Georgia recorded 145,513 visits from Gulf countries, and in the first half of 2026, visits from the region reached 26,397. Summer remains popular for cooler mountain temperatures and green landscapes, while winter tourism is gaining attention, particularly from UAE travellers, with snow activities adding seasonal appeal.

Wellness tourism is another key offering, with resorts in Borjomi, Tskaltubo, and Sairme providing spa and therapeutic experiences. In the capital Tbilisi, historic sulphur baths offer additional relaxation options for visitors.

Georgia is also developing its tourism infrastructure, with plans for more premium accommodation and investment in eco-tourism and adventure-based experiences. These developments aim to broaden the range of activities available to visitors and support the country's tourism sector.
