Georgia welcomed a record 175.6 million visitors in 2025, marking its fourth straight year of breaking tourism records. The state ranked No. 5 in the nation for domestic overnight visitation for the sixth year in a row, according to the Governor's Office.
Visitor spending reached $46.2 billion on lodging, restaurants, transportation, and local businesses, surpassing the 2024 record by more than 2%. This generated $5.3 billion in state and local tax revenues, saving each Georgia household nearly $1,300 in annual taxes on average.
Tourism is one of Georgia's largest economic contributors, with a statewide economic impact of $84.1 billion. The tourism-supported workforce rose to 473,837 jobs, accounting for one in every 15 jobs in the state.
Since 2019, Georgia's visitor economy has grown more than 15%, from 152.3 million visitors to the 2025 record. Visitor spending increased by 22% over this period, boosting tax revenues by more than 24%.
For travelers, Georgia continues to offer a wide range of attractions and destinations, supported by strategic marketing that achieved a return of $78 for every $1 spent on paid advertising in 2025.
