Vietnam tourism sector aims to welcome 25 million international visitors in 2026

Vietnam's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism expects the country's tourism industry to achieve its goal of serving 25 million international tourists and 150 million domestic travelers in 2026. The forecast was shared by Deputy Director General of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism Pham Van Thuy at a press conference on October 9.

During the first nine months of the year, Vietnam welcomed approximately 17.7 million international arrivals. The industry expects to meet its annual growth targets during the peak season, which runs from October to early next year, through synchronized solutions to attract tourists.

The tourism sector is shifting its promotion methods from introducing available offerings to building products that directly meet tourists' actual needs. Promotion plans in key markets, including the Vietnam-China tourism cooperation program, are expected to create important momentum for growth.

The authority is also coordinating with ministries to expand markets, improve conditions for tourists, and enhance aviation connectivity, including restoring and expanding air routes. Digital transformation, cashless payments, and service quality improvements are being accelerated to attract high-spending and long-stay visitors.

For travelers, this suggests Vietnam is focusing on improving connectivity and services, which may lead to more convenient travel options and better experiences in 2026.
