Sri Lanka Tourism appoints Circul8 as first Australian creative agency alongside GTI

Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau has appointed independent creative agency Circul8 as its first creative agency in Australia, alongside GTI Tourism for public relations and trade programs. The appointment comes as Australian visitor numbers to Sri Lanka grow, with over 32,000 Australians visiting in the first three months of 2026, an 18.3% increase year-on-year. In March 2026 alone, Australian visitation rose 24.2% compared to the same month in 2025.

Circul8 will lead a new six-month Australian campaign starting October 2026, designed to build awareness and consideration of Sri Lanka. The agency will work with GTI Tourism, which will manage public relations and the travel trade program. Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Chairman Buddhika Hewawasam highlighted Australia as an important market, noting the diversity of experiences Sri Lanka offers, from culture and wildlife to beaches and cuisine.

Circul8 Founder Alana Stocks said her time in Sri Lanka reinforced the destination's potential for Australians, citing safaris, tea country, beaches, and warm hospitality. GTI Founder Sarah Anderson noted improved access, with Jetstar now flying non-stop from Melbourne in addition to SriLankan Airlines' non-stop services from Sydney and Melbourne. GTI plans to host trade events and media trips to share stories of Sri Lanka.

For travellers, the campaign may lead to increased promotion and easier access to Sri Lanka from Australia, with new flight options and targeted marketing efforts expected to highlight the destination's diverse attractions.
