Southeast Asia's most visited country diversifies products to attract tourists

Tourism Malaysia has introduced three new tourism offerings featuring 118 experience-based packages and itineraries, according to Bernama. The launch aims to expand both domestic and international tourism options for the country, which is Southeast Asia's most visited destination.

The packages are divided into three categories: 29 Edu+ 2.0 packages, 23 EatVenture gastronomy packages, and 66 Taste of Orchard agro-tourism packages. These offerings integrate elements of education, gastronomy, agriculture, culture, nature and local community engagement to cater to specific tourist segments.

Tourism Malaysia's Director-General Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim stated that the expanded range will encourage repeat visitors to discover new attractions, explore more destinations and extend their stays. Information on the packages is available through Tourism Malaysia's official promotional platforms.

Malaysia recorded 21.12 million international visitor arrivals in the first half of 2026, a 2.5% increase from the same period in 2025 and 17.7% higher than pre-pandemic 2019 levels. The Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry confirmed the country's tourism recovery remains on track.

For travellers, the new packages offer more curated experiences focused on education, food and agro-tourism, potentially making it easier to plan trips that combine multiple interests and extend stays in Malaysia.
