Euronews Travel & Tourism Summit: US envoy says Global Entry for Belgians could come by end of 2026

At the Euronews Travel & Tourism Summit 2026 in Brussels, US Ambassador to Belgium Bill White stated that Belgian travelers could soon benefit from the Global Entry program, with finalization possible by the end of 2026. The ambassador said he received approval from President Donald Trump to move forward with the plans.

Global Entry, operated by US Customs and Border Protection, allows pre-approved, low-risk travelers expedited processing upon arrival at major US airports. For a $120 fee, eligible travelers enjoy reduced waiting times and access to TSA pre-checks, valid for five years. Currently, the program is only available to US citizens and permanent residents.

Ambassador White noted that the US is working with the Belgian government to complete the necessary paperwork, with Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxime Prévot personally leading the effort. The summit also highlighted that 25 million Americans traveled to Europe last year, while the US welcomed 80 million international tourists.

For travelers, this development means Belgians could experience shorter queues and faster entry at US airports if the program is implemented by the end of 2026, pending final agreements between the two governments.
