JTB and the Malaysian Tourism Board Sign a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) on Tourism Promotion

JTB, a major Japanese travel company, and the Malaysia Tourism Board have signed a memorandum of cooperation (MOC) to promote tourism from Japan to Malaysia. The agreement aims to increase the number of Japanese travelers visiting Malaysia.

The cooperation comes ahead of the 70th anniversary of Japan-Malaysia diplomatic relations in 2027. The two organizations will work together on the Malaysia Tourism Year 2026-2027 campaign to stimulate travel demand and expand visitor numbers.

Under the partnership, JTB and the tourism board will develop travel products that highlight Malaysia's diverse culture, nature, and modern cities. They also plan to use two-way charter flights and promote various destinations and experiences to Japanese consumers through media, JTB's website, and social media.

The agreement includes study tours for JTB sales staff to improve their knowledge of Malaysia, as well as efforts to boost group travel for MICE and educational trips. Both sides will combine their strengths to create attractive packages and promotional activities.

For travelers, this could mean more travel options and promotions for trips to Malaysia from Japan, as the campaign aims to raise interest and make it easier to book tours to the country.
