Kyrgyzstan participated in an international tourism forum in Astana, Kazakhstan, dedicated to mountain tourism safety, tourist preparation, and the readiness of rescue services, according to Kabar. The event was held to mark World Tourism Day and brought together representatives from government bodies, the tourism industry, and the expert community.
The delegation from Kyrgyzstan was led by Alexandra Abdykaparova, head of the strategic development department at the State Agency for Tourism Development. The forum highlighted the importance of preliminary risk assessment, tourist preparation, insurance, and rescue service readiness for the development of mountain and adventure tourism.
Kyrgyzstan expressed interest in strengthening cooperation among government agencies, tourism organizations, and professional mountaineers to enhance tourist safety. The forum also served as an opportunity to present the country's tourism development priorities and exchange experience with international counterparts.
Reports noted that Kyrgyzstan will host the 2027 Global Mountain Summit, which may signal a continued focus on mountain tourism safety and sustainable practices in the region.
