Jakarta will host the third edition of the Wonderful Indonesia Tourism Fair (WITF) from October 15 to 17, 2026, at the Grand Ballroom of Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran. The event is organized by the Indonesian Tourism Industry Association (GIPI) in partnership with the Jakarta provincial government.
Branded as Jakarta WITF, this year's fair marks the city's upcoming 500th anniversary. Steering committee chairman Budi Tirtawisata said Jakarta is not only a point of arrival but a meeting point. The event takes place amid global tourism challenges including geopolitical tensions, rising energy prices and changing travel patterns.
GIPI has secured more than 300 domestic and international buyers from 35 countries across leisure and corporate travel segments. Participating sellers include tour operators, hotels, transport providers and attractions. The three-day program will feature B2B sessions, panel discussions, talk shows and a Top Leaders Forum.
The Ministry of Tourism will organize post-event familiarization trips from October 18 for international buyers to visit destinations including Belitung, East Java, North Sulawesi and West Java. Deputy marketing minister Ni Made Ayu Marthini said the program aims to introduce buyers to destinations beyond Bali.
For travelers, the fair and post-event trips may lead to increased promotion of lesser-known Indonesian destinations, potentially offering more diverse travel options in the future.
