Indonesia is set to strengthen its tourism promotion in Japan by participating in Tourism Expo Japan 2026, which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight, Hall E2, from Thursday, 24 to Sunday, 27 September 2026. The Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia will present the country's diverse destinations, tourism products, and hospitality offerings under the national brand Wonderful Indonesia, while introducing its latest campaign, 'Go Beyond Ordinary.'
The campaign aims to deliver immersive, high-quality, and distinctive travel experiences beyond conventional tourism. It invites Japanese travellers to explore not only iconic destinations such as Bali, but also the rich diversity of locations across the Indonesian archipelago, including Jakarta, Lombok, Labuan Bajo, Sumba, Yogyakarta, Malang, Bromo, Toraja, Tanjung Puting, and Raja Ampat.
The Indonesian Pavilion will feature eight tourism industry representatives covering travel services, destination management, air transportation, accommodation, and wellness tourism. Among them are Adventure Indonesia, Wendy Asia Utama, DMC White Tiger Bali, Garuda Indonesia, Kuno Villas, Menjaga Bay Resort, The Mulia Resort and Villas, and Yoga Barn. Visitors can also experience Indonesian culture through traditional dance performances and enjoy specialty coffee from various regions.
The Pavilion will facilitate B2B meetings, tourism product presentations, and networking sessions with Japanese travel agencies, tour operators, and tourism stakeholders. Through this participation, Indonesia aims to strengthen partnerships with Japan's tourism industry and broaden awareness of the country beyond Bali.
For Japanese travellers, this means more opportunities to discover lesser-known Indonesian destinations and unique experiences, supported by improved connectivity and a range of accommodation and wellness options.
