Kazakhstan proposes holding Youth Volunteering Forum in 2027

Kazakhstan has proposed holding a Youth Volunteering Forum in 2027, according to a statement by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the 8th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan. The proposal was reported by Qazinform News Agency, citing the Akorda press service.

President Tokayev described the volunteer movement as a key component of humanitarian rapprochement. He suggested that Kazakhstan's experience with the nationwide Taza Qazaqstan project could be expanded regionally to unite young people around shared moral and civic values. The forum would be held under the motto 'Central Asia – a Common Territory of Good Deeds'.

Tokayev also highlighted the growth of intraregional tourism as a way to expand people-to-people contacts and discover the history and culture of neighboring countries. He proposed creating a common calendar of major cultural, scientific, sporting, and tourism events for Central Asia and Azerbaijan to encourage mutual travel and attract foreign tourists through combined tours.

For travelers, this initiative could lead to more coordinated regional events and combined tour packages, making it easier to explore multiple Central Asian destinations and Azerbaijan in a single trip.
